This is a training program, usually one on one where you will learn the ins and outs of the trade and profession. This is much more intense than a regular internship as it's a greater committment.

This is for students at university, and blends their education with experience in a real work experience. It's more than a regular internship as it seamlessly connects with your major.

Usually shorter than a regular internship, these are experiences in the industry created through partnerships between your university and the company. This is also known as 'job shadowing' and can lead to future employment.

This refers to an internship or job that you would do from the comfort of your own home, or the beach, or the park, anywhere you want! You work from your computer as long as you have a good internet connection.

This is not an internship, but when a graduate school gives students hands on observational experience that they only had studied prior.

This is still an unpaid internship, however as an intern you may get some financial compensation for food, equipment, or transportation. (However there are paid internships that may give these benefits)
